Occasionally I will make a pattern over.  Mostly I prefer to move on and try something new, even if it is a different pattern of the same style. You know – same same but different.

April’s monthly Stitch Challenge was Sewing Double.

After seeing Brizzy’s Busy Lizzie’s shorter Kielo wrap dress I knew I had to make another one.  I still love my longer blue version but I was after the shorter length for something more casual.

The fabric that I used is a stretch crepe in a beautiful bold red.  I got it at Spotlight!  It has a lovely drape and is slightly thicker than a regular jersey knit.

I made the same size, but the fabric makes it wear a little larger.

I hadn’t even considered tying this dress differently until I read Liz’s post.

I prefer to tie the straps firm to give me some waist definition.  However tying them loosely in front or behind creates more of a shift dress style. Very comfortable.

I love both of my wrap dresses.  The simple solid colours make them very wearable.  They are quite versatile and can be dolled up or dressed down to suit the occasion.  It would be a perfect dress for travelling.

I bought pattern this as a PDF however just recently they released printed versions.  Stitch56 is an Australian stockist if you are interested.
